I am a high school music teacher and I completely agree. PBL works and I think it's the only way to teach in the arts. I'm on a team of art and music teachers in my district and we're attempting to re-write our school's curriculum. It's nice to find another arts teacher out there sharing ideas over the internet!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03399226839132349590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737535290829967395.post-1068062894037215312011-02-02T22:20:11.825-08:002011-02-02T22:20:11.825-08:00Indian stock market is one of the most happening a...Indian stock market is one of the most happening and emerging market. I think well made videos that explain these concepts like Copyright are a lot easier to grasp that lots of words. It's great that your students are still singing the songs-must have been 'real' learning.
Tabitha I think your lesson plan on caves using art and technology would really engage students. They certainly wouldn't forget the experience- what fun and learning would result. Isn't facebook amazing in that you are able to find people from all around the world in a matter of seconds? I am always impressed by it. I have recently been reading about teachers that are incorporating facebook into the classroom too. I think this would be a major advantage, I'll have to look more into it...maybe that will be a new blog post coming soon! If you have a blog, be sure to leave me the link so that I can hop on over to your page as well.Tabithahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02948200453042358180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737535290829967395.post-21400577746141933022011-01-21T19:50:28.024-08:002011-01-21T19:50:28.024-08:00Thanks for the video

It stresses students, teachers, parents etc and has many schools putting too much emphasis on teaching to the test guidelines.

Skills related to thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration are not measurable in this way and are HIGHLY IMPORTANT! Everyone knows this but .... it doesn't make for easy state / country / world analysis and comparison! ggggrrrrrr

Now I am definitely leaving your blog to spend time with my son ;-)jenni.maartenszhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14453167188406034648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737535290829967395.post-58860822891621842902011-01-21T19:23:02.397-08:002011-01-21T19:23:02.397-08:00Hi Tabitha
Ahh, love it - especially your comment ...Hi Tabitha
Ahh, love it - especially your comment that the lack of technology allowed you to focus on friends and family!

We are often in the same rooms but in different worlds...amazing isn't it as technology has made the world smaller, yet it tends to augment gaps between families etc.

Yet the bonuses of technology are undeniable - recently I managed to renew a lost friendship with a guy in Greece who I met 16 years ago - all courtesy of Facebook....I was impressed as there were LOTS of people with the same name, but it only took 2 to find him! Without Facebook, he would have been lost to me forever!

Anyway,as you say, balance is certainly the key and I too shall make that my aim for the year....and I shall start right now by getting up and going to hug and play a game with my son, who himself sits now behind a playstation, gaming with someone in goodness knows which country!jenni.maartenszhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14453167188406034648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737535290829967395.post-14857107745609032162011-01-21T11:53:16.704-08:002011-01-21T11:53:16.704-08:00Thanks for posting about yourself!
